What is Lactose and Lactose Intolerance?
Lactose is the sugar found in milk. Lactose intolerance is when people are unable to consume and digest lactose. People who are lactose intolerant develop symptoms such as gas, bloating, cramps, diarrhea, and nausea.

Ingredients to Avoid:
• milk powder
• milk solids
• whey
These ingredients include lactose and it is important for lactose intolerant people to avoid these foods.

Foods to Avoid:
• ice cream
• yogurt
• cheese
• pancakes
• butter
• milk
These foods include lactose products.




To avoid these foods, it is important for lactose intolerant people to check all of the labels on food packages before buying or consuming. If a lactose intolerant person eats any of these foods, they will develop the symptoms previously explained such as gas, bloating, cramps, diarrhea, and nausea.
